[SPEAKER_03]: You threw me off when you you can't change your hat right from pre-show to when we go I did I went from no hat to I went put on order hat because I want to make sure if people are flipping by YouTube or anything They know it's an Orioles podcast.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I don't know what my rose had on I You know, it's it's 15 neat seasons.

[SPEAKER_03]: I figured it's time that we start out not caring

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_03]: And Josh there in the people watch.

[SPEAKER_02]: And Josh in 15 seasons, I think we can make a good argument that this is the best off season.

[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe undoubtedly, I guess.

[SPEAKER_02]: And it's in and out of season.

[SPEAKER_02]: We've ever covered.

[SPEAKER_03]: And that's why it drives me crazy when people are so negative about the team.

[SPEAKER_03]: When I look on Twitter and, you know, what's someone from the banner or put out?

[SPEAKER_03]: What's your predictions of the team and people will just complain?

[SPEAKER_03]: This team will never be there until Elijah's gone.

[SPEAKER_03]: This team will never be there.

[SPEAKER_03]: This team will never be that.

[SPEAKER_03]: This is the best off season since we've been doing this podcast.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but don't you blame that a little bit on Mike Elias set in the bar so high, both with signing Peter Lanzo, so quickly in the off season and talking about how, you know, he still has enough money to add a big arm.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, and I think they really did go hard at Ranger Swear as I didn't work out.

[SPEAKER_02]: But I think it's part of, they don't fall.

[SPEAKER_02]: This is lift off.

[SPEAKER_02]: He's at the expectations high and, and, but also the elite pitcher.

[SPEAKER_03]: But also, I think the expectations,

[SPEAKER_03]: I think they, we should be going in with high expectations.

[SPEAKER_03]: I know we won't do our bold predictions for a couple more weeks, but yeah, my expectations are high.

[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not concerned about the pitching staff, but it seemed to go at the start of the off-season of, okay, we're going to get a new manager, and we're going to get an ace.

[SPEAKER_03]: And we didn't get that ace necessarily.

[SPEAKER_02]: It sounds like Swarr is a guy who really missed out on, I know about that, it was last got off the board.

[SPEAKER_03]: I believe that I right there with you, that Ranger Swarr is who we wanted.

[SPEAKER_03]: But then I also do not want to give him the deal he got.

[SPEAKER_03]: I think he had overpaid.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I think if you look at this Josh, I think it really does the one-year deal to pass it.

[SPEAKER_02]: But also leaves you really flexible for next year.

[SPEAKER_03]: that I almost feel like sign overpaying for an ace would have diminished some of that and could have led to some frustration of now we're stuck with this guy for five years. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: And we also quickly forget about Shane Bazz, who I'm also pretty excited about. [SPEAKER_03]: I think he has potential bastards in an eater. [SPEAKER_02]: Also brings world series experience, going back with the Toronto. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, last year. [SPEAKER_02]: So I see him. [SPEAKER_02]: I saw someone comparing him to like the Chris Morton signing, but I think that's ridiculous I think he is He is the jet Rotate a legit arm in a rotation. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but don't put down my in an either comment because last year He pitched a hundred and seventy in and twenty twenty four hundred and seventy one two hundred one eighty one one fifty seven the guy pitches [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'll use you in people's settings either, though. [SPEAKER_02]: There's an implication that he's not very good at pitching. [SPEAKER_02]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, he's a good pitcher. [SPEAKER_03]: No, I'm not putting them down. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm putting, we talk a lot about this rotation. [SPEAKER_03]: And we talk a lot about how if your pitchers can get to the six through six, man, it makes it an easy job for your bullpen. [SPEAKER_03]: It takes a lot of stress off your bullpen to then be able to have all that flexibility for seven, eight, nine. [SPEAKER_03]: And he is the type of guy who can and Shane Baz can and Trevor Rogers can and call Braddish can. [SPEAKER_03]: And that's that's pretty exciting. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: And if you, um, and the, the Vludes shifted him to the bullpen, I think in the playoffs. [SPEAKER_02]: And like, wait, wait, wait, where do you see him being penciled in in terms of this, uh, starting five? [SPEAKER_03]: I, I think he's [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, really. [SPEAKER_02]: I think I'm about to pass. [SPEAKER_03]: I think I'm putting him above bars because of the proven after bars because of the proven track record. [SPEAKER_03]: I haven't looked at lefty-righty. [SPEAKER_03]: Are they all righty? [SPEAKER_03]: But, I mean, not Rogers, but let's see, Braddish is right handed, right? [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he's right handed, and Bass is right handed. [SPEAKER_03]: And Rogers is left. [SPEAKER_02]: Rogers is left. [SPEAKER_02]: All right, so E. Yeah, and James Wright, if you're still like, it's great. [SPEAKER_02]: Right, James Wright. [SPEAKER_02]: Which I guess is right. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and then. [SPEAKER_03]: So you're already mixing it up by one, two, three, going right left, right. [SPEAKER_03]: So you're forcing the opponent to mix up their lineup for game two. [SPEAKER_03]: And I say that with puttin' Rogers in the middle that we're really, I think Rogers is your number one. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: But, yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: So, you looked at numbers and I know we said, and I was like, okay, you got to try and sign Zach Allen now. [SPEAKER_02]: He's the only option he and I want to learn there. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: But this is a better option. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you break it down, look at his numbers. [SPEAKER_02]: It just seems like a really good fit for the Orioles. [SPEAKER_02]: It seems to address the real need. [SPEAKER_02]: And again, he comes out the book next year, so it doesn't hamstring you what you want to do next to off season. [SPEAKER_02]: So I just feel really good about the signing. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: 31 starts last year. [SPEAKER_03]: 2.1 war. [SPEAKER_03]: That's amazing. [SPEAKER_03]: That's great. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, over two war each and the last what five, six seasons. [SPEAKER_02]: So he's just Mr. [SPEAKER_02]: Consistency. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: The only concern, the only red flag is the age, right? [SPEAKER_02]: You don't know at some point you're going to fall off. [SPEAKER_03]: And that's the one you're deal. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: That is why it's one year, which does give us a lot of flexibility, which for a young team, that's a good thing to have. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Hey, we're sticking with talking about the rotation here. [SPEAKER_02]: ESPN announced, Bustroni does the top 10 each position. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_02]: And a lot of anticipation about the pitching, top 10 starting pitchers, who's going to go number one, school bull, or skins. [SPEAKER_02]: He went with school bull. [SPEAKER_02]: I read the article, Josh, I read the top 10. [SPEAKER_02]: Then he gets to mention several names. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm including a former oral Kevin Gaussman in the in the that we've got honorable mentions Okay, no mansion of any oral starts starting with pictures He is a bus. [SPEAKER_03]: There's a funny guy because Grace Rodriguez [SPEAKER_03]: he was not a fan of until he got traded. [SPEAKER_03]: And then it's like, oh, the Orioles blew it, let them go with this guy. [SPEAKER_03]: And I've heard him bring up Grace and on his podcast. [SPEAKER_03]: I've heard him mention Grace in so many times as his off season. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I just don't really understand. [SPEAKER_02]: There was a guy.
