[SPEAKER_01]: I'm your in-gillings-string host Matt Sworkas.

[SPEAKER_01]: Always I'm joined by the button lever Josh Sworkas.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, how are you Matt?

[SPEAKER_00]: How's your day going?

[SPEAKER_00]: A little late.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think we've ever recorded the show on a Friday.

[SPEAKER_01]: Really?

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: We've moved around.

[SPEAKER_00]: I like the new, like, let's find it afternoon where we can do it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: My schedule in the evening's gotten tricky because, you know, education nowadays, a lot of adult students.

[SPEAKER_01]: So now I teach on Monday nights and Wednesday nights.

[SPEAKER_01]: Then Salas has baseball on Tuesdays and Thursday now with wreckballs.

[SPEAKER_01]: So it's just,

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I appreciate it.

[SPEAKER_01]: So we've got it now.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now that I work from home all the time, doing podcasts, and I love just an afternoon recording.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm all good with this.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right, I'm going with the two.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm in my office here.

[SPEAKER_01]: These walls are thin, so my neighbors are looking to talk about sports.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's all good.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's fine.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not the time of year where you're frustrated.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to be yelling.

[SPEAKER_00]: Those are the ones you got to do at home.

[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_01]: I can't do any yelling on this episode.

[SPEAKER_01]: someone could knock my door in any moment, too.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, I wanted to start the judge.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was giving you a hard time about something, probably over a year ago.

[SPEAKER_01]: And you said you did something.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't know, I don't, I applied in saying it the time, but in the back of my mind, I was judging the heck out of you.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure, as that's something else I had for doing it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, something's emerged in my own life in terms of baseball on my son.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm leaning to doing what you did and what you advised, though I don't have the courage to do it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because I'm embarrassed about how other people will view me.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: So this has to do with little league.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a, it's a pain that hit those pop flies, isn't it? [SPEAKER_01]: It is. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm right where you're going. [SPEAKER_01]: Josh, I, I was a good baseball player, good and little league played high school ball. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I thought for sure, I can get a bucket of balls and hit 75% of them. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Good fly balls right to them. [SPEAKER_00]: Agreed. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm lucky Josh, if 30% get to him. [SPEAKER_00]: I know. [SPEAKER_00]: I used to think the same thing and then I came out and I said, I'm going to get this rocket. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to talk about the rocket and it sounds silly, but I've even seen rockets in major league stadiums. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's, it's professionals using it, too. [SPEAKER_01]: All right. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I just want to make sure the people around me know that professionals use it, too. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I don't know if they know that. [SPEAKER_01]: And I don't want them to see me out here with the rocket and fly balls to my son. [SPEAKER_00]: No, what they'll see is perfectly hit balls to your son. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a difference, like I can throw them pop ups, but it's not the same as kind of coming off the bat. [SPEAKER_01]: It's coming off the bat, it's coming off the bat. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's like coming off the bat. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: It is. [SPEAKER_00]: I think it works very well. [SPEAKER_00]: It's as good as the bat. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, you're not going to want to press this line drives, but I've hit ground balls with it, too. [SPEAKER_00]: Do you have one? [SPEAKER_00]: I have one. [SPEAKER_00]: Do you use it? [SPEAKER_00]: No, it's in those grudges. [SPEAKER_00]: Would you like to, would you like to borrow it for a while? [SPEAKER_00]: Next time you come up, if you want to bring it. [SPEAKER_00]: I'll stick him down a week back. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think I'm coming up in a few weeks. [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm going to try that out. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's try that out with them. [SPEAKER_00]: Or do you know what we'll do? [SPEAKER_00]: We'll go to a ball field and see who can hit balls better to the silence. [SPEAKER_00]: You and your baseball bat are me and my racket. [SPEAKER_00]: And we'll let Silas decide. [SPEAKER_01]: And Silas, you see, and understand, he gets mad at me. [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, and understandable. [SPEAKER_01]: And I was not, you had a time like, I'm going to get 50%. [SPEAKER_01]: But then I don't even get 50%. [SPEAKER_01]: And they get mad at me. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: He's getting out there waiting for me to hit me. [SPEAKER_00]: And I totally get it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: You need the racket. [SPEAKER_00]: All right. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, but you know what? [SPEAKER_00]: It makes sense that of course you were going to argue against me and think I'm being stupid because I was doing something smart and you just didn't want to admit it. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's that's why But every every personal listen spotcast I would say 90% of them think it's ridiculous to use a rocket to hit flyballs [SPEAKER_01]: You use a baseball bat. [SPEAKER_01]: No, people can do it. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a travel buck coach can do it with 90% accuracy. [SPEAKER_01]: Hit the fly ball, but where it wants to go. [SPEAKER_01]: I just can't do it. [SPEAKER_01]: And I can't believe I can't do it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but the racket gets you the accuracy. [SPEAKER_00]: It gets it to them harder. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's less effort from you. [SPEAKER_00]: And you're getting an order. [SPEAKER_00]: You need some help. [SPEAKER_01]: You're stuck with the motor. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think that I would. [SPEAKER_01]: I saw it. [SPEAKER_01]: Camping yards. [SPEAKER_01]: I saw one time they were hitting fly balls off a T. [SPEAKER_01]: Have you ever tried that? [SPEAKER_01]: The coaches hit and fly balls off a tee. [SPEAKER_00]: I have not tried that, it makes sense because I could get under it all better. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think about when you miss it. [SPEAKER_00]: When you miss the ball, when you're trying to hit pop flies, it's because you're trying to throw with one hand, then grab the bat and swing. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Which we could all do when we were younger, it just gets a little more difficult. [SPEAKER_01]: All right, so, bring your racket. [SPEAKER_00]: your argument thinking I'm stupid reminds me of a conversation I had with Kelly this week. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, she said it is just feeding into Josh's ego where Josh is going to be proven right about everything. [SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, no, no. [SPEAKER_00]: No, this is about you. [SPEAKER_00]: This is about you. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Good. [SPEAKER_00]: Good. [SPEAKER_00]: That she said that you and I should sign up for the amazing race. [SPEAKER_00]: because we are super competitive, but even more than that, we argue about everything, so we'd be very entertaining, arguing the entire time we're racing. [SPEAKER_01]: I think that's true. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think that would work that in television. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: That's what I told you, I said, I'll do any competition with you because when we're in a competition, we can speak that, like we don't need to speak, we can cover each other and know how to play well with each other. [SPEAKER_00]: But yes, we're gonna argue and pick for the entire time. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we probably would have been more successful 15 years ago on that course, but yeah, point taken. [SPEAKER_01]: All right, Rick, we're going to get some baseball or else talk. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Right, what do we, what do we, what do we start? [SPEAKER_00]: It's the we've got three games left. [SPEAKER_00]: Can we start with the last game at Cambodian yards? [SPEAKER_01]: All right, because how come no first of all afternoon game no one texted me. [SPEAKER_01]: He texted me the ninth. [SPEAKER_00]: I've got to text you about hey Dylan Beaver's just walked it off. [SPEAKER_01]: No, I I turn it on right before the Kobe Mayo home run actually. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, because I was leaving from work and I just was one on the MLB I bad up. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he would time their replying and notice. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, they're already. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I forgot. [SPEAKER_00]: I normally text you like the third fourth fifth in and when something happens and then you learn. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I never could keep up the afternoon games. [SPEAKER_01]: So, but Josh, I just want to point out. [SPEAKER_01]: What an amazing way. [SPEAKER_01]: Is this true that Dylan Beaver's first at bat in Camping Yards with a home run and his last up after the season, Camping Yards home run? [SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely so. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, that's that sounds about right. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And how fitting that Kobe Mayo had the big home run to tie it and then Dylan Beaver's two kind of young prospects who were counting on as being part of the future, kind of let us in in our last Camping Yards. [SPEAKER_01]: I thought that was very maybe good moment for for what's coming next year. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, and don't forget right, Mount Castle. [SPEAKER_00]: Didn't get one yesterday, too. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Good for Ryan, make this case for next year. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: No, it is. [SPEAKER_00]: It was a fun way to end the season.
